Paradiso Project- Vazquez Building, Bushwick, New York.

23-26 Oct 2014

Exchange Rates- produced by Sluice_ Theodore Arts, Norte Maar and Centotto.

As part of Exchange Rates The Penthouse- the artist led space I run with Debbie Sharp- was offered up the rooftop of a new Brooklyn arts space ran by Keith Schweitzer a New York City based arts organizer, curator and producer, Co-Founder/Director The Lodge Gallery and Director of Public Art Project Fourth arts Block- called Vazquez Building.

We carried out a residency project of indeterminacy on the Vazquez Building rooftop of site specific works exchanging our elevated position in Manchester, UK to an elevated position in Brooklyn, NY and responding to the unique site to make new works shared in various stages. Works included longstanding and recent relationships with structure, performance, improvisation, site, sound and space.

As part of this we delivered two evenings of Noise Above Noise.

“Manchester’s finest sound art show, this performance series works with stunning visuals and emphasizes the physicality of various art practices that consider sound.” – Bushwick Daily.

“The Penthouse, the noise gallery of sorts that’s temporarily occupying the rooftop of the Vazquez Building, a brand new event space in Bushwick. Expect total weirdness to ensue at the hands of  artists Rosanne Robertson, Debbie Sharp, Louise Woodcock, Neil Francis (AKA 2 Koi Karp), and Benjamin McChrystal Plimmer.” – Bedford and Bowery.
